Journeyman Project

Olympian Dark.png

For the journeyman project at University, I was the Junior Lead Designer for The Cult of Athena. As Junior Lead I was assigned with being the liaison between the team and the Lead Designer.

The game demo and trailer we created was called The Olympian Dark, which was a 2.5D perspective 3D turn based RPG, set in Ancient Greece with an H.P Lovecraft inspired story and art style.

Personally I set the task to make sure the team worked hard together, enjoyed the project and had a mutual respect for one another. I worked early on setting up spreadsheets and a Trello page that helped the team monitor our progress and also set out weekly instructions/deliverables for the team. As leads, we made sure that team members were selected for particular areas according to their strongest skills.

During the project, I worked closely with the designers working on the mechanics such as the RPG system and the games user interface. I also worked closely with the Junior Art Lead, to ensure that the project was consistent throughout its development.

I created all the in-game cinematics and cut scenes as well as creating a game trailer and a credits roll for the game (Both of which are below). I also worked on blueprints which included a lighting system that made lights come on in a specific pattern when the player entered the fountain room in the bath house level and I also created a push and pull puzzle system in the same area. I also worked alongside the animation team when creating the movements for both the player character and the enemy boss.

Below is also a copy of the teams production book that we submitted for the project.
